Stack Ares Doom for delayed burst damage: hit, re-apply, and let the explosions do the work.

Doom is delayed burst: you apply it, it sits, then detonates for a chunk of damage. The build is about re-applying Doom faster and making each detonation bigger.

Gods and boons to prioritize

Priority	God	Why
1	Ares	Take a Doom boon on Attack or Special, plus Ares boons that raise Doom’s damage. This is the whole build.
2	Athena	Deflect keeps you alive while Doom ticks. A standard safety pick.
3	Hermes	Faster attacks and dashes mean faster Doom re-application, which is where Doom’s real damage comes from.

Pour Poms into your Doom boon. Doom’s number scales hard with level.

Payoff to aim for

Ares pairs with other gods for Doom-amplifying Duos and has a Legendary that rewards committing to him. The research flags exact Duo and Legendary names as items to verify, so aim for the archetype: a Duo that lets a second source (such as a status or a cast) trigger or stack with Doom, or Ares’s Legendary once you hold enough of his boons. Take the Duo if your second god lines up; do not force it.

Keepsake

Ares’s keepsake to make his boons, and your Doom boon, appear early.
Swap to Athena’s or Eurydice’s Evergreen Acorn at a region transition once Doom is online and you need defense.

Do this in order

Equip Ares’s keepsake to find a Doom boon fast.
Take Doom on the part of your kit that hits most often (Attack for fast weapons).
Add Athena Deflect for survival.
Pom your Doom boon every chance you get.
Pick up Hermes speed so you re-apply Doom faster.
If a Doom-amplifying Duo or the Ares Legendary is offered and your gods line up, take it.

Watch out for

Re-applying Doom before the previous stack detonates can waste it. Let it pop, then re-apply.
Doom is delayed, so slow weapons that hit rarely struggle to keep it up.
Do not spread into a second damage source. Pom Doom instead.
Skipping defense. Doom does not protect you while it ticks.
