Hades II
The sequel roguelike. Play the witch Melinoe across two directions, descending to fight Chronos and ascending to Olympus. New Magick and Omega attacks, the Arcana Cards meta system, and Selene's Hexes on top of the boon stacking.

Hades II by Supergiant Games. Full 1.0 released September 25, 2025 on PC and Switch after roughly 16 months in Early Access; PS5 and Xbox (and Game Pass) followed April 14, 2026. As of mid 2026 it is a stable, finished 1.0 getting balance patches, so tier-list opinions still shift with each patch.
Top tips
- Learn Magick management. Spend Omega moves freely within a room (Magick refills on entering the next), but do not channel them while surrounded.
- Use Sprint, not spam-dash. Hold Dash to Sprint for repositioning. The single Dash is delayed and cannot be chained like Hades 1.
- Hoard Ashes and Psyche first. They unlock and expand Arcana Cards, your biggest permanent power source.
- Prioritize the right Daedalus Hammer. One Hammer upgrade can outweigh two or three god boons.
- Pick a damage engine and commit. Choose a god status like Hestia Scorch, Zeus Blitz, or Aphrodite Weak and stack toward it.
- The Witch Staff is the best beginner weapon. Branch out once comfortable.
- Unlock gathering tools early (Night Craftwork needs 1 Moly), then run the Crescent Pick to bank Silver for new weapons.
- Engage the surface path once it opens. It is the route to Bronze, new bosses, and the second half of progression.
Guides
builds
- Beginner Build (Witch Staff) quick
A forgiving first build on the Witch's Staff. Lean on Omega moves, a strong defensive god, and one clear damage status while you learn Magick and Sprint.
- Scorch Build (Hestia) quick
Stack Hestia's Scorch for damage over time. Apply the status fast, then let the burn tick while you reposition with Sprint.
- Blitz Build (Zeus) quick
Build around Zeus Blitz, which detonates after a threshold of hits. Stack fast, multi-hit attacks to trigger the burst again and again.
- Weak Build (Aphrodite) quick
A defensive engine built on Aphrodite. Weak lowers enemy damage and Charm turns foes against each other, so rooms get easier as you stack the status.
- Hitch Build (Hera) quick
Hera's Hitch links enemies so damage spreads between them. Pair one strong single-target source with Hitch to clear whole rooms at once.
- Daze Build (Apollo) quick
Apollo's Daze gives enemies a chance to miss, and his boons widen your abilities. A large, forgiving build that controls rooms while it deals damage.
progression
- Meta-Progression Priority quick
What to spend Ashes, Psyche, Moon Dust, Bones, Nightmare, and Nectar on, in order, so your permanent power grows fast.
- Oath of the Unseen (Fear) quick
The difficulty system: Vows, Fear up to 67, Vow ranks, Testaments, and a sensible order to stack Vows for the Nightmare farming loop.
weapons
- Witch Staff (Descura) deep
The default starter and the most forgiving Nocturnal Arm, with quick melee, a long-range Special, and a strong Omega projectile.
- Sister Blades deep
The fastest Nocturnal Arm, twin daggers with low per-hit damage but relentless speed and an Omega Attack that teleports you behind a foe.
- Moonstone Axe (Zorephet) deep
The slow, heavy Nocturnal Arm that hits hard and clears rooms, with an Omega Special that blocks while it charges.
- Umbral Flames deep
The ranged Nocturnal Arm that shines when you keep the Omega Attack firing continuously, rewarding patience over a tougher learning curve.
- Argent Skull deep
A shotgun-like Nocturnal Arm that throws three skulls as finite ammo you must retrieve, with a Special that dashes and recovers them.
- Black Coat (Xinth) deep
The secret sixth Nocturnal Arm, a mechanical jetpack and arms with a punch combo, a force-field Omega Attack, and an Omega Special that locks onto multiple enemies.
bosses
- Headmistress Hecate deep
The Witch of the Crossroads and first boss of the descent, who guards the way out of Erebus with projectiles, hexes, and summoned minions.
- Scylla and the Sirens deep
The second descent boss, a sea monster fronting a siren band, fought three against one in the watery region of Oceanus.
- Cerberus deep
The third descent boss, an infernal possessed form of the three-headed Hound of Hades, fought in the fast and deadly Fields of Mourning.
- Chronos deep
The Titan of Time and final boss of the descent, a two-phase fight in Tartarus whose second phase swings near-instakill attacks.
- Polyphemus deep
The Cyclops and first boss of the ascent, a brute who guards the way out of the City of Ephyra on the surface path.
- Eris deep
The personification of Strife and second ascent boss, who wields the Adamant Rail and periodically buffs her own damage in the Rift of Thessaly.
- Prometheus deep
The third ascent boss, guarding the climb through Mount Olympus on the surface path before the final confrontation with Typhon.
- Typhon deep
The Father of All Monsters and final boss of the ascent, a titan once sealed under Mount Etna and freed by Chronos, fought at the Summit.
